If you tried the prior process of refreshing the folders, and that did not fix your sync issues, you will need to disconnect and reconnect your google account. Please follow the following steps to log out of your Google Drive account and then log back in.
Click on the Google Drive icon in the status bar and click on the gear icon.
Pause syncing
Once again, click on the Google Drive icon in the status bar and click on the gear icon.
This time select preferences
Click on the new gear icon
Choose disconnect account
Keep the disconnection window open until the account is fully disconnected. The disconnect button will turn blue. This can take various amounts of time. It could be as short as a few minutes, but could be up to 30-45 minutes. Please leave the window open. You can continue to work while this is happening, but you will need to only access Google Drive via the web interface. Do not open any Google Drive files via finder. You will need to download the files from google drive (you can use finder to open these files), work on them, save them, and then upload them via the web interface during this time.
Fully close out of Google Drive.
Relaunch Google Drive and follow the steps to reconnect your account
You will need to unpause syncing. Do do this click on the google drive icon in the status bar, click on the gear icon, and select resume syncing.
